Jenny Simpson
Oviedo High School alumnus Jenny Simpson didn’t just earn the bronze medal in the women’s 1,500 meters at the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro—she made history in the process. Prior to Simpson’s success, no American athlete had claimed a medal in the competition. Simpson finished in 4 minutes, 10:53 seconds.

Fletcher Magee
First Academy graduate and Orlando native Fletcher Magee is heading into his second year as a scholarship basketball player for South Carolina’s Wofford College. Magee had an outstanding freshman season, owning the best free-throw percentage in the NCAA, being featured on SportsCenter and other ESPN shows, and was named College Court Report’s Mid-Major Freshman of the Year.

Tracy Cehovin
The co-owner of Orlando’s Rogue Pub with husband Michael Maluda, and mother to a 3-year-old son, Tracy Cehovin works as much as 90 hours per week but still finds time to partner with local schools, sponsor and volunteer at walks, and coordinate charities and fundraisers benefitting her business’ neighborhood. As a result of her efforts, Rogue Pub recently received the Restaurant Neighbor Award from the National Restaurant Association and Florida Restaurant and Lodging Association.

Bonnie Warner
In July, Volusia County resident Bonnie Warner was named the Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health Florida’s 2016 Foster Parent of the Year. In addition to caring for multiple children, Warner serves as a mentor to new foster parents, making herself available to those who need supplies, advice and encouragement.
