Party Themes & Trends

Make any celebration memorable with a well-executed theme, including detailed invitations, a mouth-watering menu, and a beautiful atmosphere. A theme amps up the fun-factor for any occasion and allows guests to unleash their inner party animal! You’ll love the following themed suggestions for Frozen, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Hollywood, and Gender Reveal parties.

Frozen Princess Party

Create a Winter Wonderland inspired by Disney!

Rock candy, gumballs, and candy sticks create a glacial gala. Hang blue and white rock candy “icicles” and glittery snowflake decorations from white branches arranged in a vase. Place frosty-colored candy in containers underneath, along with yummy treats like frozen “trees” of ice cream cones rolled in frosting and dusted with white sprinkles. Pour gumball “snowballs” into plastic blue champagne flutes with a purple candy stick “straw.” Display a tray of mini pink gumballs for a bright burst of color, topped with yogurt-covered pretzel “snowflakes.”

Set a table fit for royalty by layering Frozen dessert and dinner plates on top of purple paper plates. Use glittery snowflakes as coasters and “melted snow” (think pillow stuffing or cotton balls). Serve blizzard punch in clear snowflake-printed tumblers and fill Frozen cups with princess tiaras, wands, and other favors.

A flurry of decorations creates a winter wonderland straight from the mountains of Arendelle! Dangle paper snowflakes at different heights from the ceiling in front of a background of shimmering iridescent foil to set the stage. Then capture party pictures using a frame cut-out.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

Let your ninja bring the Turtle Power with Donnie, Leo, Mikey, and Raph!

Call the mighty ninja squad to the turtle lair with totally cool invitations; stuff Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles tattoos into the envelope. Guests must wear their secret pass tattoo for party entry. Then, make the party room booyakasha with themed place-settings, balloons, and DIY chair decorations. Create a walkway of blue, green, and turtle balloons, leading up to a balloon arch entry.

Let your party ninjas show off their strength with a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles piñata. Older kids can use a traditional piñata bat, while littler ones will enjoy taking turns pulling the strings to see which one releases a flood of themed candy and toys.

Personalize a Ninja Turtles banner and dangle streamers and swirl decorations above a counter designated for gifts. Set a turtley awesome table for your party dudes with themed tableware, centerpieces, and confetti. Shell out fun favors in a green pail, such as blowouts, flying discs, pencils, krazy straws, sunglasses, and disc-shooters. Then, make cool pizza-slicing packets by wrapping cutlery in a napkin tied with a TMNT wristband which can be worn for the rest of the party.

Make a dojo room for the ninjas to practice their moves, inspired by Donnie, Leo, Mikey, and Raph. And provide special ninja gear, like sweat bands and masks, to play the part.

Turtle power! Let your ninjas refuel with cake pops. Not sure which turtle is your favorite? These bite-size treats allow you to choose more than one.

Hollywood

Tweens & teens love the glamourous lives of Hollywood superstars, so roll out the red carpet for a birthday celebration or watch party!

Create your very own Walk of Fame by using red carpet runner, then add customized gold star cutouts, using letter stickers to spell out the names of your VIP guests. Line the red carpet with dazzling metallic star balloons, anchored with glittery top hats.

A bigger-than-life cutout is the perfect sidekick for your glam set. Use a Hollywood table cover and add spotlights. Little “extras” like this will win you the part of hostess with the mostess. Set up a favor station brimming with costume accessories to create a picture-perfect look, such as hats, tiaras, wigs, glasses, and boas.

Turn up the drama by using a big-screen TV or projection screen. Prepare a popcorn station with reusable popcorn boxes with classic red and white stripes. Set out a variety of best-in-show popcorn toppings.

Don’t forget plenty of Hollywood themed party napkins for buttery fingers…things can get messy when the plot thickens! Cater to your movie set with delicious food served on showy clapper board plates.

Big Reveal

Pink and blue? Gender celebrations are the ultimate surprise party! It can be hosted by loved ones, similar to a shower, or by the parents-to-be.

Deliver adorable invites that make it clear this is no ordinary baby shower! Use an owl-themed design with a “guess who” message.

Instead of tweeting from the doctor’s office, savor the sweet surprise with friends and family by announcing your baby’s gender at a Big Reveal celebration! Ask the ultrasound tech to put the gender into an envelope that you can give to the bakery (don’t peek!) to create a gender reveal cake or cupcakes. Get ready for shrieks of joy when you cut into the cake or bite into the cupcake! Savor the sweet curiosity by displaying pops and cookie pops decorated with question marks, leopard spots, and zebra stripes.

Fill glasses with It’s a Boy and It’s a Girl buttons and prompt guests to choose a team. Is the grandma-to-be positive it’s a girl from the shape of the baby bump? She can show off her vote by wearing an It’s a Girl button and sipping pink lemonade from a pink flute. Ask guests to wear pink or blue to the party (to display their vote), but also have props on hand, such as pink and blue ribbons, tiaras, mustaches, and leis. Let the battle of the sexes begin!

Make a sweet diaper cake that plays up the mystery – and makes a decorative element. The mom-to-be will ooh and aah over the pretty ribbons, adorable tiny pacifier, and rattle charms, and guests can make a game of casting their votes with cupcake pick signs. After the stork comes, the parents will appreciate the supplies for their bundle of joy.

Fill patterned favor bags with pink and blue candles, picture frames, and other adorable reminders that everyone found out “boy or girl” together at a festive celebration.
