The Yardery, a fast casual outdoor restaurant, recently opened in Sanford. As its name suggests, it is both a yard and an eatery, with many outdoor games for guests of all ages to participate in such as cornhole, table tennis, ladder toss and billiards. The restaurant offers breakfast, lunch and dinner with a menu that includes “backyard food with a twist.” The pet-friendly establishment also has a menu for pups.
Popular food truck Wafu is planning to open a restaurant in East End Market this May. The eatery will offer its signature freshly made taiyaki, a Japanese-style waffle that is shaped like a fish and made with sweet or savory fillings, as well as soft-serve ice cream and a few new menu items.
Puerto Rican coffee shop Café Don Juan will soon be opening in Winter Park. Though it is the largest chain of coffee shops in Puerto Rico, this location will be the first in the U.S. In addition to a variety of coffee blends from Central and South America, the café will serve fresh pastries and a full breakfast and lunch menu.
Celebrity chef Art Smith will be opening a new restaurant, Sunshine Diner, at Orlando International Airport this summer. The former chef to Oprah Winfrey has stated that this new venture will be nothing like his other restaurants, including Chef Art Smith’s Homecomin’ at Disney Springs, but will be part of his dream “to revitalize the American diner.” Concept art has revealed the retro-style diner will offer banquette seating as well as a large counter dining area with barstools.
A new Hawaiian restaurant, Honolulu Harry’s, is set to open later this spring in College Park. The menu will include items such as tropical drinks, poke bowls ans pineapple salsa, as well as some unique Spam dishes.
Pennsylvania-based chicken joint Chick’nCone will soon be coming to Winter Park. The global chain offers a “fork-free” experience with grab-and-go comfort food such as fried chicken served in specialty waffle cones, chicken sandwiches and tenders.
Fatburger, a well-known West Coast burger chain, is planning to open 10 locations across Orlando over the next six years. All 10 of the restaurants will be branded with Buffalo’s Express, a fast casual chicken restaurant. No set dates or specific locations have been announced as of yet.
