New features coming to local private high schools.

Bishop Moore Catholic High School

Bishop Moore’s Media Center has been transformed into a gathering place for independent studying and student collaboration, and where students can grab a snack or drink after school, resulting in a Student Educational Center. Furthermore, the Campus Ministry Center now provides indoor and outdoor areas for spiritual growth.

The Foundation Academy

The school’s technology offerings include new equipment and additional classes, including updated gear for its Digital Audio Production class. The Foundation Academy has also acquired the equipment needed for its own radio station, AM 1710, that reaches a one-mile radius and is run by media journalism students.

The Geneva School

A new athletic complex is under construction at The Geneva School’s property in Casselberry. Furthermore, home fields are scheduled to be ready beginning with the winter sports season.

Lake Highland Preparatory School

Lake Highland students now have access to small, interactive online classes through the Global Online Academy. Pairing students and teachers from more than 60 of the world’s best independent schools, the program challenges students to leverage communal learning and the internet to seek real-world applications of learned concepts.

Lake Mary Preparatory School

Upper and middle school students now have the option to take a new Coding & Robotics course. The computer science- and engineering-focused class explores the origins of robots and robotics, teaches basic computer skills and how to design and build robotic components, and even how to create sophisticated robots using Lego Mindstorms kits.

The Master’s Academy

The Eagles unveiled a number of improvements this year, the largest of which was the new, 600-seat Performing Arts Center, which includes an art suite, band room and theater. The school is also offering a new lunch program featuring fresh, nutritious, chef-prepared meals, as well as the after-school Common Grounds Café.
