Chocolate Fondue: Two Ways to Melt Your Heart

Melt the hearts of your loved ones with melted chocolate! Sweeten the deal by dipping fresh strawberries, bananas, pound cake, or your favorite treats in a heavenly fondue. Try the caramel-raspberry or peanut butter variations of this chocolaty good recipe.

 

INGREDIENTS

Choco-Caramel-Raspberry

  • ½ cup Land O’Lakes® butter
  • ½ cup seedless raspberry preserves
  • 1 14 oz. package caramels, unwrapped
  • 1 12 oz. package (2 cups) semi-sweet real chocolate chips
  • 1 12 oz. can evaporated milk

Choco-Peanut

  • ½ cup Land O’Lakes® butter
  • 1 12 oz. package (2 cups) semi-sweet real chocolate chips
  • 1 12 oz. can evaporated milk
  • 1 10 oz. package (1 ¾ cups) peanut butter-flavored chips

Dippers

  • Cubed pound cake
  • Angel food cake
  • Cut fresh fruit

 

DIRECTIONS

Preparation time: 35 minutes; Cooking time: 30 minutes

Makes 4 cups

 

  • Combine all ingredients for desired flavor fondue, except dippers, in 2 qt. saucepan.
  • Cook over low heat, stirring occasionally, until melted and smooth (30 to 35 mins for Choco-Caramel-Raspberry; 20 to 25 mins for Choco-Peanut).
  • Pour fondue into fondue pot, chafing dish, or small slow cooker to keep warm. Enjoy dipping treats, such as pound cake, angel food cake, and fresh fruit into fondue.

 

TIPS

Place the fondue pot on a large, flat serving platter to protect the table or counter. Arrange dippers around the fondue pot. Fondue forks work best, but if you don’t have any, use regular tableware forks, chopsticks, or long wooden or metal skewers.
