Florida Retina Institute continues to grow and evolve the practice to better meet the needs of the patients it serves.

For over 45 years, it has been Florida Retina Institute’s privilege and pleasure to provide compassionate care to the communities they serve. The practice’s 15 board-certified ophthalmologists are fellowship trained retinal surgeons, specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of vitreo-retinal diseases and surgery.

Florida Retina Institute’s retina specialists have earned national recognition by leading ophthalmology and medical societies. Annually, they are selected by their peers as Castle Connolly’s Top Doctors, consistently ranking among the best in the U.S. These talented physicians have trained at some of the most prestigious hospitals and medical universities in the country, including Bascom Palmer Eye Institute Miami, University of Florida, Cole Eye Institute, Wills Eye Hospital, Columbia University New York, University of Iowa, Emory University, Baylor College of Medicine, Duke University, The University of Texas and Cleveland Clinic.

To further establish its growth in the community and commitment to patient care, Florida Retina Institute has lots of exciting things in the works.

  • New office location: In 2025, the practice will open up a new 10,000-square-foot office space in Lake Mary.
  • Clinical research expansion: Clinical research departments have been expanded in Orlando, Wildwood and Jacksonville.
  • New administrative buildings: In addition to its clinical offices, four new administrative buildings have been added in Kissimmee, Jacksonville, Mount Dora and Orlando.
  • Growing the team: The number of physicians will also be expanding as the practice remains dedicated to continuously enhancing its team of 15 ophthalmologists by seeking the most qualified and distinguished candidates.
  • Patient Concierge: The VIP Concierge Experience offers a personalized, patient-centric approach through curated patient liaisons who assist with the entire scheduling process, ensuring seamless and efficient care.
  • Care Coach: The practice’s Continuous Care Program is designed to support patients with retinal diseases, ensuring they receive the right care at the right time. The program engages with patients, their families and their other physicians to provide comprehensive care. Each patient is paired with a dedicated Care Coach who assists with various needs, from low vision aids to vitamins, transportation, exercise classes and overcoming barriers to care.
