Just One Question

Summertime certainly means fun in Orlando. But with the summer heat upon us, it is important to stay cool and enjoy the next several weeks of the sizzling season. So, we wanted to know: “What is your favorite way to beat the Orlando summer heat?” We asked these Central Floridians and here’s what they had to say.

Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer

“There is no better way to beat the heat than by visiting one of our neighborhood aquatic centers for some safe, fun, family-friendly activities this summer. Our Families, Parks and Recreation department offers Orlando residents quality recreational and fitness programs, including swim lessons for kids and adults at each of our 11 pool locations.”

Bishop Justin S. Holcomb of Episcopal Diocese of Central Florida

“My favorite escape from the sweltering Orlando heat begins with getting smoothies from Grain and Berry with my wife and two daughters before we make our way to a nearby bookstore, where we lose ourselves among the shelves. We cap off our retreat by unwinding in the lazy river of one of Orlando’s fantastic water parks.”

Stephanie Williams, Zoo Director, Central Florida Zoo & Botanical Gardens

“Our favorite way to beat the heat at the Central Florida Zoo is always the Wharton-Smith Tropical Splash Ground. It’s the perfect way for kids of all ages to stay cool and have fun this summer!”

Anthony Adams, Marketing Director at Goodwill Industries of Central Florida

“The best way to beat the heat is to grab a swimsuit from your neighborhood Goodwill and spend the day at the pool!”
