All Aboard! The Cannonball Christmas Express

For centuries, trains have been a Christmas time tradition. Trains adorn Christmas tree displays in homes and store fronts alike, and remain a classic toy for children to unwrap on Christmas morning. So, what better way to get into the holiday spirit than to take a magical trip to the North Pole aboard the Cannonball Christmas Express?

Pulled by a 1907 real steam locomotive, this whimsical Christmas Express departs from Wooton Park Station in Tavares (about 35 miles Northwest of Orlando). On select dates from November 23 to December 23, passengers can experience the joy of riding in vintage coaches, reminiscent of those in the Oscar-winning holiday movie, while singing Christmas carols and enjoying a cup of hot chocolate with cookies.

Upon arrival to your destination, Santa himself will board the train to greet children and offer cheer with a holiday gift a sleigh bell to ring in the magic of Christmas to those who “Believe.”  Santa’s elves will truly make the experience come to life for a merry evening filled with fun and inspiration that will delight the little ones and warm the hearts of even the most skeptical nonbelievers.

Inspired by the classic children’s book “The Polar Express” by Chris Van Allsburg, kids are encouraged to come in their pajamas for this 50-minute rail adventure which is guaranteed to become a new holiday tradition for the whole family!
