Jimmy Fallon visits Universal Orlando Resort!

The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon is filming four episodes this week (6/16-6/19) at Universal Orlando Resort. I was thrilled to be in the audience during Monday’s taping with the gorgeous Jennifer Lopez (oh my gosh…JLO!) and hilarious Keenen Ivory Wayans. And yes, despite being mom to her 6-year-old twins, Emme & Max, JLO is even more fly than when she was a Fly Girl on In Living Color. The American Idol judge releases her tenth studio album, titled A.K.A., this week.

Lucky contest winners, including sisters Morgan and Katie Leary from Orlando, will also appear on the show this week (how cool is that?) for a Soul Train themed segment. As devoted fans of Jimmy Fallon and The Roots (The Tonight Show’s Grammy-award winning band), the Leary sisters thought they “had to give the audition a shot” in hope of dancing circles around the competition. Luckily, these sisters were born with “soul power.”

“My sister and I grew up in a family where disco music was played every Saturday night, and we’d dance around our house. In preparation of our submission, we watched Soul Train for three days to study classic 70’s dance moves,” Morgan said. After filming their short routine to a medley of disco tunes in “ridiculous costumes,” the Leary sisters posted their video to Twitter (#TonightShowDance) and received a call from producers within hours! On Monday evening, Morgan and Katie joined a handful of other Orlando winners for the taping of the Soul Train segment throughout Universal Orlando Resort, alongside Fallon and The Roots. Catch the groovy rendition Tuesday night (6/17/14) on WESH at 11:35 pm. Fun Fact: Ahmir “Questlove” Thompson of The Roots authored Soul Train: The Music, Dance, and Style of a Generation.
